"My name is Terry Earle. My wife made the reservations for our family and the Powell family. When she called in the reservation we asked for adjoining rooms and non-smoking. When we arrived at approximately 8:30-9:00pm we found out that what we were told on the phone was not true. We did not have adjoining rooms, and we were definately in a smoking room. When I called the front desk to complain of the errors I talked to Jeremy, the on call manager (or so I was told), his attitude was sorry there is nothing that we can do you didn't have a confirmed reservation? What is giving your credit card with a 72 hour cancelation policy and already withing the 72 hour window - I couldn't cancel even if I wanted to. The toilet also had not been cleaned in room 205. The smoke smell was very heavy. Jeremy's solution is to send a fogger up, all that did was make the smoke smell like perfurme. The only indivial that tried to make this right was someone who had been there a week, a young man by the name of Andrew. He was the only one who was truely concerned for the customer (I would recommend training him for the manager position Jeremy holds). I think for what we received it was way overpriced, average to below average room, with poor customer service. I do not plan to go again nor will I recommend it to any of our many business relationships that go to this area for vacations or weekends."

"The hotel actually made the weekend enjoyable. There really is not too much to do at Carolina Beach, so to have accomodations that you can enjoy really makes the difference! The pool area is a really nice place to have a drink or lunch and the restraunt has pretty good food. The view from the hotel is fantastic as well."

The hotel is also two miles from the Aquarium at Fort Fisher, five miles from Wrightsville Beach eight miles from Louise Wells Cameron Art Museum, and 15 miles from Battleship USS North Carolina, Cape Fear Museum, and the Wilmington historic district.
